In keeping with Sydney’s different suburbs and range of architectural styles, we offer a design and furnishing service that spans interior styles from coastal, modern, classic, industrial and eclectic to opulent.
The Sutherland Shire, spanning from Menai to Cronulla and down to Waterfall, is loved for its surf beaches and leisure spots as well as serene bushland with four national parks including the famous Royal National Park where you’ll find homes immersed in bushland.
Along with the variation in landscape, the styles of home in this area range from modern and minimalist to contemporary pavilion styled homes to beachside cottages and traditional brick veneer residences. With such a diverse range of exteriors, no interior is the same.
We provide a complete interior design and decorating service to tailor the interior of your home so it is unique to you and your lifestyle as well as the architecture of your home.
Our clients had just purchased an impressive brand new apartment after downsizing from a large family home. After selling all of the furniture they had accumulated over the years, they engaged us to create a completely new interior from scratch.
The brief was for a modern, uncluttered space with bold, clean lines and quality finishes. The palette of materials used include tan leather, oak timber, marble and glass with black accents and pops of colour in artwork and soft furnishings.
A custom made tan leather sofa takes centre stage in the living room with a separate ottoman that can be moved around as needed. A striking marble coffee table and original artwork add colour, texture and interest and the whole scheme is grounded by a neutral rug.
The balcony is an extension of the main living area so it was important for the pieces to work together from inside and out. The balcony is a tight space and called for slimline furniture with a low profile so as not to overtake the space or view too much. Upholstery in a pale aqua colour complements the blue and green of the outdoors.

In the dining room, a large smoked glass light pendant and a mirror installation on a custom painted wall in a Porter’s Paint French wash make a bold statement. The glass table helps to make the space feel larger and the black metal table frame works beautifully with the black legs of the upholstered dining chairs.
What our clients had to say about working with us:
“When we downsized from our family home to a brand new two-bedroom apartment it was important to us to work with a designer who would take the time to understand our vision and take our blank canvas and personalise it to our requirements,” said Glenn and Simone Curry of Cronulla
“We were after a holistic design that was tailored to our style and lifestyle and we wanted furniture and furnishing pieces that you don’t see every day. Sarah and Luisa from Novari Interior Design certainly delivered.
“What we enjoyed most about working with them was the collaborative process; they listened to us and then opened our eyes to possibilities we know we would never have thought of ourselves. The way they presented their ideas using moodboards made it easy to visualise and their attention to detail throughout the process was exceptional.
“They sourced interesting items from a range of specialist suppliers and ensured the quality was consistent throughout and the different elements, colours and finishes all worked well together.
“We particularly love our custom made leather sofa, hand painted artworks and outdoor furniture that doesn’t overcrowd a small balcony. The end result is not only aesthetically pleasing but also comfortable, homely and really functional. It’s the most complete home we’ve ever had,” said Glenn & Simone Curry.
This project was all about creating a comfortable, practical and uncluttered home that would suit a young family’s style and beachside lifestyle.
In the sitting room we mixed a statement black coffee table with strong lines with a softer, duck egg blue sofa to create the perfect balance between the modern and coastal elements.
We softened the entire look using a hardwearing flat weave rug with a subtle pattern and accessorised with a pair of mirrors to add some timber accents in keeping with the timber floating shelves of the built-in cabinetry. A fresh coastal colour palette of blues and white was used for the scatter cushions and accessories.
Continuing the bold black lines throughout the home we used strong but simple pieces of furniture and accessories in the living and dining area allowing the view to be the focus of this space. The contrasting rug helps define the living space in the open plan layout while also providing warmth and texture.
